Shutters for period homes in Ipswich and Suffolk
Ipswich, Woodbridge, Lavenham and the villages between are full of houses that were never built square. Off-the-shelf products fight those windows; made-to-measure shutters work with them.

Victorian and Edwardian sashes
Tall sashes suit tier-on-tier shutters with the split aligned to the meeting rail, so the shutter mirrors the window's own proportions. Smaller louvres — 47mm or 63mm — usually sit better on period glazing than a large modern louvre.
Cottages, beams and uneven reveals
Timber-framed Suffolk cottages move. Reveals lean, sills slope and nothing is a right angle. Every frame is templated to the actual opening, and where a reveal is badly out we can specify a frame profile that absorbs the discrepancy rather than leaving a visible taper.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Interior shutters usually sit outside the scope of external planning restrictions, but listed building consent can apply to internal alterations. We'll flag anything that looks like it needs checking with the local authority before you order — we'd rather delay a job than land you with a problem.
Three decades of Suffolk windows behind it
Our sister company Crisp Windows has been working on Suffolk window openings for over 30 years. That's why we can look at a bowed reveal or a rotten sill and tell you what will actually happen once a frame goes in.
