How long from ordering to installation?

Once you approve the order and finish, we send the measurements to our supplier for manufacture. Lead times vary by range and time of year — we confirm the current lead time in your written quote so there are no surprises.

Do you install shutters yourselves?

Yes. Every installation is carried out by our own team. We measure, we fit, and we come back if anything needs adjusting after installation.

Are shutters better than blinds or curtains?

It depends what matters to you. Shutters give the cleanest architectural finish, the best long-term durability, and precise light and privacy control. Curtains stay warmer and softer; blinds tend to be the cheapest short-term option. We are happy to talk honestly about the trade-offs at survey.

Living rooms and bedrooms usually work well in painted timber. Bathrooms, kitchens and coastal homes benefit from composite or ABS ranges, which handle moisture better. We confirm the right material for each room during your survey.

Do shutters help with insulation?

A closed shutter creates a still air layer at the window, which helps reduce draughts and moderate temperatures. We do not quote specific energy-saving percentages — the honest answer depends on your existing glazing.

Can shutters be fitted to bay windows and unusual shapes?

Yes. Bay windows are one of the strongest reasons to choose shutters, and we regularly template arched, angled and shaped openings that off-the-shelf products cannot fit.

Do all your shutters come with a mid-rail option?

Most louvred shutter styles can be specified with or without a mid-rail. On tall windows we usually recommend one for rigidity and split control; on smaller windows it is a purely aesthetic choice.

What louvre sizes are available?

Common louvre sizes are 47mm, 63mm, 76mm and 89mm. Smaller louvres suit small windows and traditional properties; larger louvres let in more light and suit modern rooms. We recommend a size at survey.

Can I choose any colour?

Yes — we offer a wide range of standard whites and neutrals, popular stains for timber ranges, and colour-matching to a specific RAL reference on selected ranges. Samples are available before you order.

Do you have a showroom?

We are a local installer rather than a showroom-based retailer. Samples of colours and louvre sizes are brought to you at survey so you can compare them against the light in your own rooms.
